My bank account needed a bit of a break after my Chicago excursion, so I took this week off from exploring any new locations. Don’t fear, I have a great local spot to tell you all about next week.
With this being my 20th post, I figured it was time you learned a little more about me as the content manger of this blog. So, here are 30 facts about me. Most are travel-related, but some are just fun.
Full name? Erica Nolan
Are you named after anyone? I’m named after one of my mom’s high school friends. She really admired her confidence so she named me after her.
Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? I did in college. It was “Er-kah” (it’s more like the two sounds mushed together than an actual word). Not sure why or how it happened. I blame my floormates from freshman year.
Zodiac Sign? Scorpio
Where were you born? Schenectady, NY
Why did you start blogging? I’ve had about three blogs on and off since high school. I have a passion for travel so I decided this blog would be a good way to make sure I actually got out and saw the world.
What did you want to be when you were small? I wanted to be a vet…my fear of blood stopped that dream pretty quickly.
What was your first job? My first job was working as a server at a catering company in Saint Louis.
What is your dream job now? I’ve got a lot of dream jobs but, as of right now, I think it would be pretty cool to work at a U.S. Embassy of Ireland.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert? It depends on the day, but most of the time I’m an introvert.
Favorite smells? Freshly brewed coffee and lavender

Would you rather trade intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence? I would rather trade looks for intelligence. Looks fade no matter what you do, but knowledge truly is power.
What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? Prague, Czech Republic. It’s about 7,714 km (or 4,793.25 miles) from Saint Charles, MO.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Galway, Ireland
What is your favorite family tradition? Driving from Saint Charles back to Utica, NY to visit family every Christmas.
What is your favorite family vacation? Going to Niagara Falls (the Canadian side)
How many countries have you visited? 11 (12 if you count traveling throughout the United States)
Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Alaska. Two words: snow and moose.
What form of public transportation do you prefer? (air, boat, train, bus, car, etc.) I love trains. They give you the chance to get to know the person sitting next to you.
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? I would love to visit late 19th/early 20th century England.
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be? J.K. Rowling, Nellie Bly, Emma Watson, and Oscar Wilde.
What’s your favorite type of foreign food? Greek food all the way. Get me a gyro and some dolmathes and I’m in heaven.
What’s the tallest building you’ve been to the top in? Probably the Eiffel Tower
How many languages do you speak? I’m fluent in English, have early elementary proficiency in French, know a handful of Gaelic, and have mastered the art of sarcasm
